Terms of Use.

Important: By downloading, installing, or using the Companion AI mobile application (the “Application”), developed by Pinak Faldu (“Service Provider”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before proceeding.

1. App Overview

Companion AI provides AI-powered conversational support designed to help with mental wellness, including reducing anxiety, managing stress, and supporting emotional well-being.

The app offers free features and optional premium subscriptions.

2. Subscription Services

2.1 Available Subscriptions

Companion AI Premium provides auto-renewable plans. Current pricing is displayed in-app and may vary by storefront:

  • Weekly subscription: $4 per week
  • Yearly subscription: $35 per year (Save over 80% vs. weekly)

Note: Local taxes or currency conversions may affect final pricing on your device.

2.2 Subscription Features

  • Unlimited AI-powered conversations
  • Access to different companion styles (Supportive, Mindful, Motivator)
  • Faster response times and priority processing
  • Early access to new features
  • Premium support

2.3 Auto-Renewal Terms

  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled 24 hours before the period ends
  • Your storefront account is charged within 24 hours prior to renewal
  • Weekly plans renew every 7 days; yearly plans renew every 365 days
  • You can manage or cancel auto-renewal through your device account settings

3. Payment and Billing

3.1 Payment Processing

Payments are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Charges are applied to your account upon purchase confirmation.

Once you authorize a subscription, the store manages ongoing billing directly. We cannot modify or stop these transactions on your behalf.

3.2 Price Changes

The Service Provider may adjust subscription pricing. Changes apply at the next renewal, and the store will notify you when required.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 How to Cancel

For iOS users:
Open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions
Select Companion AI → tap “Cancel Subscription”

For Android users:
Open Google Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions
Select Companion AI → tap “Cancel Subscription”

4.2 Cancellation Terms

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle
  • You retain premium access until expiration
  • No refunds or credits for partial periods
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal

5. Refund Policy

All sales are final. Refund requests must be submitted through the store that processed the payment:

  • iOS: Apple support
  • Android: Google Play support

6. Free Trial (if applicable)

If a trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.

Trials are limited to one per Apple ID or Google account.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account and payment information
  • Maintain the confidentiality of your account
  • Not misuse, abuse, or reverse engineer the Application
  • Use the service in compliance with applicable laws
  • Avoid sharing harmful, abusive, or illegal content

8. AI Conversations & Content Disclaimer

Companion AI provides AI-generated responses intended for general emotional support and reflection.

You understand that:

  • Responses are generated by AI and may not always be accurate
  • The Application is not a licensed therapist or medical provider
  • You are responsible for how you interpret and act on responses

9. Content Responsibility

  • You retain ownership of the content you input
  • You are responsible for what you share within conversations
  • Do not use the Application for harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes

10. Permissions

The Application may request basic permissions required for functionality.

You can revoke permissions anytime through your device settings.

11. Intellectual Property

You retain rights to your input.

The Service Provider owns all rights to the Application, including its design, technology, and branding.

You may not copy, modify, or create derivative works of the Application.

12. Responsible Use

You agree not to use Companion AI to:

  • Promote harm, abuse, or illegal activity
  • Mislead others using AI-generated content
  • Exploit or misuse the system

Violations may result in suspension or termination.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Application is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how limited data is processed and protected.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or misuse the Application.

Upon termination, you must discontinue use of the Application.

15. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Changes become effective once posted.

Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Limitation of Liability

Companion AI and the Service Provider are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Application, including inaccuracies in AI responses or service interruptions.

17. Technical Support

Support includes:

  • App functionality
  • Subscription and billing issues
  • General usage help

It does not include professional mental health advice or services.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States.
